In The Beginning

When Keen Edge Knives first began, we were "Keen Edge Knife Works" and primarily sold mid-tech live blades... the Pukulan and the Kerambit (now Kerambit 1).
About the same time, we began making training knives... Steve tells the story about being dragged, kicking and screaming, into making trainers... we soon found that there was such a need for affordable, quality trainers that we decided to focus on that enterprise, and we did for many years. Now the training knives are doing well... we have twenty different models, and our equipment and ability levels have grown such that we can easily carry on with that while returning to our roots and making live blades again.
We now offer high quality live blades matching our world famous trainers. It is now possible to train with and carry the same knife.
Quality in Material, Design and Workmanship
Our Knives are precision milled from 1095 high carbon tool steel. They are hardened for superior edge retention and tempered for strength. They are then coated with a baked-on ceramic finish that is wear and corrosion resistant. This superior coating, applied by Iron Ridge Gun smithing, is the same finish applied to assault weapons and sound suppressors used by elite law enforcement and military units. Sheath Included
Each knife comes with a vacuum molded kydex sheath, with an indexable 2 inch belt loop allowing for multiple carry positions. Additional special Blackhawk and Tech Lok belt attachment systems will be available soon, for an additional cost.
Color:
For now, we offer our live blades with the black coating only, but we will soon make them available in your choice of black, deep green, or desert tan.
American Made
These knives, and all our Keen Edge Products, are completely American Made. We manufacture them ourselves in our shop in Keenesburg Colorado.
